Aardvark

Google labs is one site I frequently visit. On my last visit to google labs. I found this interesting concept Aardvark.

The concept of Aardvark is to figure out answers to questions through people in your network. This is what google has to say about aardvark.

Aardvark discovers the perfect person to answer any question in minutes.

  • Just send Aardvark a question in plain English, like you would to a friend.
  • You will get a personal response in about 5 minutes from someone in your network.

You can use Aardvark on the web at www.vark.com, and through your existing communication channels: IM programs (like Gmail Chat, AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, and MSN Messenger), Twitter, iPhone, and any email program.

  • Travel tips
  • Restaurant & bar recommendations
  • Product reviews/opinions
  • Local services and entertainment suggestions
  • Music, movie, TV, and book recommendations
  • Technology & programming help
  • Business & school research
  • Home/Cooking/Gardening ideas

Whats more, the Aardvark bot can be added to your gtalk and you could ask questions as I

Google Wave

There’s a lot of hullabaloo in the internet world with Google rolling out its new fancy collaboration software. The Google Wave.

Have been trying to figure out what Google Wave exactly is. Been going through tech forums and blogs for that. They are filled with speculations about what it would be, how would it impact the classic email technology etc… Think its wise to just start with the basics… Go to the Google Wave site. According to which this is what Google Wave is

Google Wave is an online communication and collaboration tool that makes real-time interactions more seamless — in one place, you can communicate and collaborate using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is a conversation with multiple participants — participants are people added to a wave to discuss and collaborate on its content. Participants can reply any time and anywhere within a wave, and they can edit content and add more participants as a wave develops. It’s also possible to rewind waves with the playback functionality, to see what happened, and when.

However, Google Wave does not currently interact with email. Am sure google will do something to interface existing emails with Google Wave. Currently Google wave has an invite-only preview (So if you have an invitation, please send one across to me)

Leaving you with this video

So what’s this blog about?

Another attempt? Well yes. Attempting to figure out another sustainable model (there are some other attempts going on parallel-ly). Well, we have a lot of questions in mind. we read up stuff, we do some research to find answers to these questions. This is an attempt to publish that little 15-20 minute research.
