Old Monk

Was reading up a case study on the Wine Industry… The Wine industry is over 6000 years old. Wine was a drink of the elitist before it reached the common masses. During the dark ages, monks were the only ones making wine for self consumption. This made me wonder if the rum Old Monk has anything to do with this.

I Wikied and went through other sites to figure out the history of Old Monk and if it was related to the dark ages. As it turns out to be, Old Monk is an Indian Brand by Mohan Meaking Breweries. As it turns out, its not as old to date back to dark ages. So there is no connect apart from the name which is probably derived from the same history.

    Dude,

The monks who made a difference to the wine industry were like Dom Perignon. Check out history of champagne and other wines…most of them had their processes improved b monks…

Nice post….you could highlight some of the case facts 🙂

yeah… will do in future posts… What struck me about old monk (apart from the sweet taste :P) was the name… Champagne that way, does not have a name correlation.

And yeah… Monks did some good thing other than preaching 🙂

So what’s this blog about?

Another attempt? Well yes. Attempting to figure out another sustainable model (there are some other attempts going on parallel-ly). Well, we have a lot of questions in mind. we read up stuff, we do some research to find answers to these questions. This is an attempt to publish that little 15-20 minute research.
